OIT Systems Status

OIT Systems Maintenance Wednesday 2/6

On Wednesday February 6th between 10PM and approximately 2AM there will be a brief (5 - 10 minute) interruption to each of the following services in order to apply necessary system security and maintenance patches:

 

* Campus email server (including Webmail) & gateways (including Antispam interface)

* Lyris & Mailman mailing list servers

* Frontpage/OIT/Library web server

* Campus LDAP (directory) servers

* Campus web server (inc. CART, CEHS, CHSS, SBUS, and Grad School sites)

* Lyris & Mailman mailing list servers

* Web for Students (WESS), Faculty and Advisors, and Employees

* EZproxy (off campus access to on line Library databases) & MSU-Proxy

* Lecture123

Intermittent access to SIS and WESS (1/2/08)

Wed, Jan 2nd: As has been customary the last several years on the return from the holiday break, the SIS system along with Web for Students (WESS) and Web for Faculty and Advisors will be brought down at times today, Wednesday Jan.2, between late morning and late afternoon to complete grade processing.  The total down time should be from 2 to 4 hours.

Email gateway maintenance tonight 10:30PM

Information Technology needs to make a vendor-recommended software update to the email anti-spam gateways this evening, Wed December 12th at 10:30PM.  The update is expected to take about 20 minutes and will improve the gateway’s ability to recognize and tag the latest spam activity.

During this time frame some inbound mail may be queued for re-delivery until after the gateways come back online. We do not anticipate any loss of inbound mail during the maintenance window.
